The Bacchai – Euripides translated by Colin Teevan.
Dionysus is the Greek god of drama and wine, and capable of transformation. He disguises himself as a mortal and arrives in the city of Thebes with his worshippers – The Bacchai – to form a cult. Pentheus, the leader of the city attempts to stop them which has dire consequences and the play ends in tragedy.
